Christmas Tree Varieties
We have three types of real Christmas trees from which to choose from and each offer different features.
The classic Nordman fir tree has become the favourite Christmas tree of choice partly due to its excellent reputation for needle retention. Nordman firs have a fresh subtle aroma giving an enchanting festive feel. Conical in shape with soft, deep green, glossy foliage the Nordman is considered by many to be the ultimate Christmas tree.
The Fraser fir is a traditional American Christmas tree. Like the Nordman it has very good needle retention, a fine conical shape and is fast becoming a favourite in the UK. Frasers are a very ‘full’ tree with dense lush branches and is usually a little slimmer than the Nordman so if space is an issue this may be the tree for you. The Fraser is a wonderfully scented Christmas tree which will give off citrus aromas right though the festive season. Needles are short and soft making it an ideal tree with children and pets around.
A very popular Christmas tree the Lodgepole Pine has excellent needle retention, a very distinctive candle like shape and an open structure to show off your decorations to the full. A lovely pine scent with the added bonus of pine cones the needles are long and yellow green in colour.
Our Christmas trees reach our garden centre in Wigan from the last week in November and go on sale immediately. please call early so that you get the best choice. We will deliver any tree to the local area FREE of charge and for a small fee we will collect again after Christmas and recycle the tree for you.
